Apostle John handed us a major key to life When he prayed for those He loved to "prosper in every way, even as their souls prospered" (3 John 2). Our soul is made up of our MIND, our WILL, and our EMOTIONS. If we are prosperous in our thinking, in our choosing and in our feeling, we will prosper in every area of our lives!
When we follow Christ, We are given the mind of Christ... and we are instructed often how to use it. How we think determines much of how we live. Wise Solomon tells us: "As a man thinks in his heart... so is he." Improvement in any area of our lives begins with a renewing of the mind. As our mind is renewed, our feelings will follow suit, and be reflected in our choices. The quality of our thinking will determine the quality of our living.
We were designed to live from our heart. Did you know that our hearts are designed to think, feel and choose? This is why we are warned in Proverbs 4 : 23 to “Guard our heart above every other thing... because out of it flow the issues of life.” What is in our hearts, will be what comes out of us. Our mouths speak from the over flow of our hearts. So mental health is not centered in the mind... it is centered in the thoughts, feelings and choices of our hearts.
