The Simple Truth

THE SIMPLE TRUTH

Did you know that most of our inner pain comes from the lies we believe? I see it over and over in my role as a counselor... when a lie that has plagued our life is dealt with - the pain is gone! The thing about lies is that they are so deceiving. In a place where a lie has become embedded in the fabric of our soul (our mind, will and emotions; therefore our thinking, choosing, feeling self) we are deceived... yet it  seems so true.

Recently, a client expressed to me the reoccurring pain in her life of being 1) not heard, seen or understood by others, 2) not having 'a voice', and 3) feeling 'dumb.' I simply told her those were lies about herself she was believing, and shared with her 3 simple steps to removing their influence and therefore the pain they caused in her life.

Step #1: Renounce these as lies. ["In Jesus Name, I renounce the lies that "I am not heard, seen or understood by others"; " I have no voice"  and "That I am dumb.")

Step #2: Forgive anyone who has been involved in teaching you that these things were true of you. ["In Jesus Name, I forgive _____________________ for _________________. ]

And, Step #3: Ask Jesus to show, tell, or help you to sense, know or feel - what is the TRUTH about you instead? And He will.

When lies are exposed for what they are, forgiveness is released to those who treated us in ways that did not agree with how God would treat us, and Jesus reveals THE TRUTH in these places instead - the power of the lie to cause us pain is gone. It's as simple as that.

Now, this may involve processes that take some effort and time and healing... but these three keys will set you free!

John 8:32 You shall know the truth - and the truth shall set you free!

2 Corinthians 10: 4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the [true] knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
